Got Cat Behaviour Problems?
Are you tired of your cats fighting? Or perhaps you’re embarrassed to have visitors because of the state of your furniture? Haven’t had a full night’s sleep in a while? Or worse, is your cat leaving little “surprises” outside her litterbox?
You’re in the right place!
Hi! My name is Chris O’Neil and as a certified cat behaviourist, I’m here to tell you that we can correct (or at least improve) unwanted cat behaviour issues in most cases. I help cat guardians like you for a living. It’s extremely emotionally rewarding for me, because not only do I get to speak to wonderful cat guardians and educate them about their animals, but I often get to save the beautiful little animals (and their humans) from a potentially terrible fate.
You see, in my teens I used to work at a veterinary surgery, and I saw the volume of cats that were brought in for what I now call “The Big Six” problem behaviours:
- Human-directed aggression
- Animal/Cat-directed aggression
- Litterbox avoidance
- Furniture destruction/scratching
- Annoying nighttime behaviours/excessive vocalisation
- Counter surfing
The vet would often tell the owner that there was nothing they could do and instead prescribed (unneeded) medication, suggested rehoming, and even worse, sometimes euthanasia. As far as most people were concerned, cats behaviour couldn’t be corrected and was often put down to anxiety.
Well, it turns out that this is often not the case. I have helped countless cats (and their owners) with previously considered “unfixable” issues. In fact, my life’s mission is to reduce unnecessary medication, rehoming and euthanasia of these wonderful animals.
Here’s a sample of what happy clients have said:
So, what's involved in getting help?
I consult with cat owners all over Australia online. I work with most platforms (Facetime, Skype, Zoom etc). Why online? Besides the obvious advantages of being able to help more people, and it's just far easier for you, I find that consulting online is perfect for cats because often they are (depending on the issue) in a stressed/anxious state, and a "stranger" in the house can make bad behaviours worse.
Ideally you will be on a phone or tablet so you can show me around the all-important territory.
How much is it, and what's included?
My consults are very high value compared to many other behaviorists in Australia. My consults are currently on sale for $330 (normally $440), and in each consult I go through:
- Assessment and discussion of the issue
- Assessment of the cat's routine
- Assessment of the cat's territory/environment
- Explanation of the possible reasons for the behaviour
- Discussion of potential solution or action plans
In addition, you ALSO get:
- A FREE copy of my ebook, It's Not Your Cat It's You! (RRP: $24.95)
- 30 days of email support, during which you can email me as much as you need, and we can have weekly check-in's if you wish.
